Marijane E. Treacy, Esquire
Marijane Treacy is part of the firm’s Medicaid eligibility, and labor and employment practice groups. She handles numerous Medicaid eligibility matters and appeals, and secures guardianship appointments for incapacitated residents. In addition, she provides daily counsel to long-term care clients on general Medicaid eligibility issues and policies.
Ms. Treacy also practices labor and employment law on behalf of the firm’s clients. Prior to joining Schutjer Bogar LLC, Ms. Treacy exclusively represented management clients for a national labor and employment law firm. During that time, she represented employers in manufacturing, service, and healthcare industries in all aspects of labor and employment law, including defense of employers in state and federal courts and administrative agencies, proceedings before the NLRB, grievance and employment arbitration, mediation, injunctions, reductions in force, restrictive covenants, breach of contract, and other workplace law matters. She provides daily counsel to clients on human resource issues, and also evaluates and investigates workplace complaints and concerns, including harassment, discrimination, and FMLA issues.
Ms. Treacy trains the firm’s clients, as well as professional organizations, on Medicaid eligibility, EEO, anti-harassment, union avoidance, supervisory skills, recruitment and retention, and limiting litigation and disputes.
Ms. Treacy is a graduate of Pennsylvania State University, and obtained a Juris Doctorate Degree, with honors, from the Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio. Ms. Treacy is actively involved in volunteer activities in the Pittsburgh area and sits on the board of a local non-profit organization benefiting young adults. She is admitted to practice before federal and state courts in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the State of Ohio.
